Family 04:57
we are the trees pushing through the cement the beast that breaks the net and escapes to raise its young safe the taste of my sweat on your tongue is love cause its a struggle to avoid getting crushed we push back the walls a little more exploratory forays into all there is in store and oratory only goes so far its hard put your back into it and I got your back if you’ll back me through it I need a family like a stand of trees and you’re my family if you stand with me so lets build a life just a day at a time to free our bodies and to free our minds unless we battle the oppressive best bet its gonna get us so we share the carried loads with the people that we cherish as a dude I have privilege so I stand behind the women in my life as they fight off all this patriarchal venom its collective liberation no space for charity our lives are tied together they’re there supporting me if I need it I got it if I can give it I will if you shop for groceries I’ll cook up a meal and that’s healing got me feeling my realest and its the things that I’m proud of when I look in the mirror helping each other love our whole naked selves and when our lives feel rich though we ain’t making wealth I’ll yell at the top of my lungs as a toast to my family far away and my family real close it gives me so much joy to watch my little brother grow I love him and I make sure he knows we’re sowing the seeds y’all make me believe that someday we might be free and at peace but for now we’re dreaming past the world we see thank god I’ve got my family they'll try to rip our roots out so let's sink them in deep it's collective liberation and we are all we need we've got to evolve together if we dream of being free when growing a community we’re just a seed but we’re a super seed and we’re gonna supersede all these concrete trees that scrape skies and wreck lives cause we recognize the power we supply rely on each other there’s no other way to rise I aspire to perspire right beside you I look into your eyes and know they hide divine truth it shines through internal blueprints for seven billion better worlds if we overlap the diagrams we’ll build a better world every voice deserves and echo to project it to the stars if you wanna speak mic check we’ll lend you ours send your ears back in return hear your sister’s story to ensure she has a turn we learn and grow more powerful the power that we share don’t only check your privilege but bring it’s force to bear as you support your comrades as they're taking back theirs solidarity is the force of love in action it’s I’ll swear to have your back son it’s supporting all the struggles ‘stead of ignoring the black ones I ain’t taking back none we’ve had our tunnel vision but the time for that is past done we’re lashed to history and bear the lacerations if we wanna make the body strong hard healing's what we’re facing scars don’t disappear but we can wear them with pride like been there done that but yeah we survived its a never ending process there’s nothing that can stop us its a force of evolution we’re mutants with solutions humans gotta figure how to live on this earth to prove these brains were a gift not a curse its hard work, but its either that or the hearse and I’d rather hurt with you than be alone and inert the kings up in their castles I’ll tell you what they're scared to see all of us together sharing love and solidarity they'll try to rip our roots out, so let's sink them in deep it's collective liberation and we are all we need we've got to evolve together if we dream of being free when growing a community

the kick drum in my ribcage says I don't spit to get paid I do it to keep it beating cause I love you human beings I'm through with holding back getting trapped inside my grey matter burn bring right now cause every single day matters shake patterns that are keeping you locked up boxed in see the individual not us and I must trust the bonds that can be made between souls it's not make believe but what really makes us be whole I hold on to reality fastened by my passions, my life is tied tightly to the world that I inhabit. and hell I wouldn't have it friend any other way either everybody's getting free or we all are staying slaves so brave the loaded barrels, the heralds of the white house fascist bullet holes they would only let the light out the supernova spirit you can hear it in my song the struggle that connects us all it's here I belong this is where I live and what a damn fine place it is this is where I live such bliss just to exist floating in connection I am but a drop unto the sea and everything that's ever been is just another drop like me home is where the hear is low rent for starving artists pumping moments through my veins untamed and hard to harness but damn the chains I'd lay upon a thing that would be free everything I've ever tried to own only ended owning me even the muscle blood and bone are only loaners from the earth every inch of human being was another being first so when I spit I seek to speak as just a spoke upon the wheel I am blind to where I'm going but the road is mine to feel I don't have time to hide in fear so I must think clearly life is so divine hold the whole world dearly so hear me shout hear it echoed from the mountains in the sea and in the breeze even the trees are reannouncing solidarity is everywhere in everything we've ever shared I was born a part of the planet so upon it I am never scared any place I place my feet whispers home as I approach I gotta say it clear so everybody knows this is where I live and what a damn fine place it is this is where I live such bliss just to exist floating in connection I am but a drop unto the sea and everything that's ever been is just another drop like me

why do we idolize leaving us with idle eyes afraid to see the beauty in that which can't be televised merchandised and sold we cannot find ourselves cause we're searching in the mold so when they pour in the gold we'll be that statue on the pedestal instead of all those other chumps we can claim we're credible trying to get famous aimless in our purpose but y'all know what the name is what the game is cause we all sound the same as each other when we're spitting our egos we go "I'm the greatest rapper ever and I lay it the tightest my rhymes are mad fly in fact they're outta sight" which is really the truth cause they're making us blind we aren't speaking with our hearts we're just flexing our minds this is a rhyme to take the ego out of being an artist cause regardless of my songs and whatever I do any fire that's in me is a reflection of you you can sing it you can shout it scrawl it on the bathroom wall you can tell me all about it cause you're beautiful namaste to my human posse criss cross to english if you lost me the light in me honors the light in you cause you don't need to be on stage to be speaking the truth I'd rather live in the groove than be living to prove that my beats bump phat and I rap better than you this quest to be the best is tying up the rest of us stressing in our chests trying to sound just like the record does I'ma wreck it cause I am tired of it wrecking us fuck the pecking order I'm not a chicken I'm an anarchist break open the walls keeping beauty in the studio bust down the dam don't give a damn unless it's true to you step up to the mic push doubts back like your cuticles there is power in your voice I believe in you you're beautiful who do you think you are except divine there is light inside your heart like there is light inside of mine you can sing it you can shout it scrawl it on the bathroom wall you can tell me all about it cause you're beautiful as our tasteful oratory fills this makeshift auditorium the platform that we rap on performs a metamorphosis transforming from the ordinary boring everyday in the circle of the cypher we explore another way for a moment we create the world we want to live in where every voice is valued and our art is freely given to any who seek to listen anyone's free to lend a beat or instead to speak their vision when we preach we breach division teach that each degree has got a piece of what we need to know egos not the point but there's a reason we should heed the flow cause even though that we be told that the truth be on the tv show it's not we got all we need right here I believe that we ought to be taught by each other and not by the box, the cops, or big brother so recover your life from a world that is hurtful find light in these words then take it full circle you can sing it you can shout it scrawl it on the bathroom wall you can tell me all about it cause you're beautiful

Thrive 04:27
shadows pool behind my pupils as I'm searching for a spark never truthful to my senses they keep the lenses dark impart tension to my heart as I think through inky curtains sink until I think that only hurt is certain but I'll never stop my searching for the light behind my eyes some days its hard to get up by the sun will always rise aspire without limits give it all you got and thrive I got all I need for happiness the world and I'm alive cause its so damn beautiful man I can's say nothing more true to y'all cause the hard times they are still mine I'm without regret and forget rewind cause my mind is the key to my freedom things depend on how you see them so love each moment the best I can keep breathing and stick to the plan be happy and die trying I'ma burn until I burn out gonna fall until I'm flying be happy and die trying I'm gonna burn until I burn on out breathe in what nourishes the place where courage is encouraging us to crush doubt and live to just bust out of this bus route mindstate driving round in circles never to reach the highway sitting in my driveway thinking about my day doing my best to try and see it my way breathing deep like the bellows of a furnace set fire to this fellow get him burning in earnest and each time the flame flickers it's a lesson I'm learning push my soul push my body I'm determined to earn it but I ain't worried though it's a winding progression through all this mess and mud this is my simple message be happy and die trying I'ma burn until I burn out gonna fall until I'm flying be happy and die trying I'm gonna burn until I burn on out
